We are the North’s trusted counsel for criminal defence.

And now we do more.

VanBridger Tomassini + Gvozdanovic LLP has proven itself time and again

Criminal law isn’t just something we do; it’s been our principal focus for years. But as we broaden our coverage in the North — Timmins, Cochrane, Temiskaming Shores, and beyond — we’ve expanded our services to cover civil litigation, regulatory offences, and more.

As partners, we work collaboratively to address our clients’ most complex legal needs. We are tireless advocates for our clients, offering strategic counsel on their clock, not our own. Boasting an impressive track record of proven results, we offer the experience and knowledge needed to navigate the intricacies of the justice system in Ontario.

We put our clients’ needs first and offer an unwavering commitment to the best possible result.

A Focused mind
and a Steady Hand

William VanBridger

Managing Partner  |  B.A., LL.B.

With his winning track record, William is the lawyer his opposition doesn’t want to meet in the courtroom. As a strong advocate for his clients, William is a force to be reckoned with. Boasting extensive trial experience, William focuses on criminal law, handling a range of issues from drug-related offences to sexual assault cases.

After receiving his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan, William moved back to Ontario so he could build a career helping people, including those who may not necessarily have access to his standard of legal service. William’s passion for helping people is what drives his success; it’s what forms the basis for his unequivocal commitment to his clients and their issues.

Called to the Bar in 2007, William now has over a decade of experience under his belt and draws on it to represent clients facing complex legal challenges. William lives in Timmins and serves clients across Northern Ontario from Temiskaming to the James Bay Coast.

Partner  |  B.A., J.D.

Michael started out his legal career with a philosophy: stand up for the little guy. Focusing on criminal law, in particular on issues connected to the law and procedures on bail and sentencing, Michael has made a living of protecting the liberty of everyday people.  With hundreds of hours of courtroom experience to his name, Michael is an experienced and relentless advocate who single-mindedly pursues his client’s interests.

Michael received his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he won the Robinson-Ryan Award given to the graduating student who contributed most significantly to the law school’s legal aid clinic. Called to the Bar in 2012, Michael began his legal career at a boutique firm in downtown Toronto before relocating to the north in 2013. Prior to joining VanBridger Tomassini + Gvozdanovic LLP, Michael was a staff lawyer at Legal Aid Ontario, where he assisted individuals in Timmins, Cochrane, Kapuskasing, Hearst, and elsewhere with their criminal and family law matters.
